Mayor Laurene Weste and the Santa Clarita City Council are cordially inviting the community to meet Santa Clarita’s new Assistant Fire Chief Bill Niccum at a special open house on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at City Hall. The Open House is free and open to the public, and will be held in the City’s Century Room, located on the first floor of City Hall at: 23920 Valencia Boulevard.
Assistant Fire Chief Bill Niccum has strong ties to Santa Clarita, having attended Saugus Elementary, Hart High School and College of the Canyons. He purchased his first home in Newhall and is pleased to be returning to work in Santa Clarita as the Assistant Fire Chief.
“It is a pleasure to work in Santa Clarita and to serve with the many dedicated men and women of the local fire stations. I am looking forward to serving this community as the Assistant Fire Chief,” said Niccum.
The meet and greet open house is an opportunity for the community to meet Chief Niccum. There will be information and displays about fire safety programs, including the Ready! Set! Go! Program which details important steps families can take to protect themselves in the event of a fire.
